I. Introduction to playing Castanets
Complete beginners: A thorough introduction to playing castanets: we will work on the correct posture and finger technique, learn the notation and practise the basic techniques. We will also play a short concert piece for beginners.
Friday 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Castanets can be borrowed by prior arrangement.
II. Concert piece for Castanets
Intermediate to advanced level: We will improve our castanet technique and rehearse a new concert piece. The focus will be on the structure and intensity of the musical depth through the study of articulation, dynamics, timbre and agogics. The planned piece is ‘Vals Melancónico’ by Isaac Albéniz. I will prepare several versions with different technical challenges for different levels from intermediate to advanced.

Saturday and Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Charge: € 90 / € 80 for our course participants.
