ABOUT THE ARTISTS…

Amparo de Triana is a certified dancer and dance teacher, flamenco dancer and concert castanet player. She studied flamenco with renowned artists such as El Farruco and Manolo Marín, and concert castanets with Emma Maleras and Consol Grau. Engagements in the Tablao Flamenco ‘Los Gallos’ in Seville and as a soloist at the ‘Bienal Flamenca’ alongside Mario Maya. In addition to her teaching work, she performs and tours extensively throughout Europe with her own flamenco and concert programmes. After more than 30 years, she is giving up the direction of her FlamencoStudio Amparo de Triana and concentrating artistically and pedagogically on the concert castanets. She is considered a virtuoso of this instrument.

Yoshimi Ogawa is a concert pianist. She studied piano at the Kunitachi College of Music with Prof. Iida and K. Mimura, and postgraduate studies at the Freiburg Musikhochschule with Professor Barth. In 1991 she received her concert diploma with distinction. In 1990 she was already a prize-winner at the Duo Competition of the German Music Academies and in 1991 and 1992 she received an invitation to perform as a concert pianist at the ‘Festival du Musique’ in France. She gives concerts throughout Europe and in Japan. In 2017, she discovers her passion for flamenco and comes into contact with completely new harmonies, rhythms and sounds for the first time.
