The IGkK e.V., the International Society for Artistic Castanet Playing, has invited me again to give an online workshop via ZOOM on 07 October. For this I have written a new two-part piece:
Edvard Grieg: Bedstemors Menuet – Grandmother’s Minuet, op. 68 N°2
a beautiful piece from Book IX of his Lyric Pieces.
Two castanet parts are prepared for the levels 3-4 (with slow carretilla) and 5-6 according to Emma Malera’s method. Castanetplayers who do not play according to this method are also welcome.
We start with preliminary exercises for the respective voices, then work first on the 2nd voice (in 2 levels), then on the 1st voice (also in 2 levels). In the last lesson we study the ensemble playing.
